What We Do
NHCS High School-based Wellness Centers provide enrolled students access to comprehensive, integrated Health Care, on-campus, at New Hanover County’s four public high schools.
Program Benefits
Services Available
Primary Care/Medical Services
Enrolled students can be seen by a medical provider (FNP or PA-C) for acute illnesses, such as:
Sore throat
Ear and sinus infections
Urinary tract infections
Rashes
Minor sprains/strains, etc.
Preventative services such as annual well visits and immunizations
Sports Physicals
Each year, all North Carolina students who plan to participate in school athletics must undergo a state-mandated screening examination. Enrolled students can have this physical done at a school Wellness Center.
Before the appointment, NCHSAA required physical screening forms should be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.
